The 2014 Coffee Spot Calendar

An espresso on one of the tables in the garden at the back of the Boston Tea Party, Park Street, BristolSo, I’ve decided to take the plunge and go into the brave world of Coffee Spot merchandising with a Coffee Spot calendar for 2014. The idea is to produce a professionally-printed calendar, A4 in size. Each month there will be landscape, A4 picture from one of the Coffee Spots I covered in that month.

Each calendar will cost £12.00, with a flat fee of £1.20 postage and packing (UK only), regardless of how many you order. For non-UK orders, I will provide you with a specific quote for the postage.

Update: it looks as if the calendar will be going ahead! However, I’d still like some more pre-orders please…

The gallery below shows the Coffee Spots that will be featured in the calendar, along with some shots of the samples I got back from the printers.

Now comes the tricky part… In order to get the calendars printed at a price which makes sense, I need a minimum print run of 50. So, that means I need to have reasonable confidence that I’m going to sell somewhere near 50 calendars…

This is where you, dear readers, come in. Put simply, I need to know whether you’ll buy the calendar. Although at this stage no money will change hands, I do need a pretty firm commitment.

Update: I’ve got the sample calendars back from the printers and, even though I say so myself, it’s looking great! I’ve added a couple of pictures of it to the end of the gallery. The other good news is that I’ve got enough pre-orders that I can print 25, so if all else fails, I’ll go ahead with that print run. However, I won’t be printing more unless I get more pre-orders since the next print quantity is 50 and I don’t want 25 unsold calendars on my hands!

Also, I’ve discovered that I can do a nifty little desktop calendar as well! Check out the end of the gallery for some pictures of it. If you want a desktop calendar IN ADDITION to a wall calendar, they are just £6 (again, you need to pre-order). If you just want a desktop calendar on its own, they are £9 each (plus the flat fee of £1.20 for postage).

So, please leave me a comment below, letting me know how many calendars you want and whether you want any desktop calendars. The aim is to have them printed at the start of December and shipped out to you by mid-December at the latest so that you can have them in time for Christmas.

If you’d rather not publicly commit yourself, you can always drop me a line using the Contact Form.

If you’ve pre-ordered, I will be in touch once I’ve ordered the calendars from the printers. Obviously I will need your address and you will need to pay me. I can take Visa debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), Paypal or you can use good, old-fashioned cheques.

November 2014: after the success of the calendar, I am now producing a 2015 Coffee Spot Calender!

  1. I’m sure I suggested this to you a while back:} What about the venues you feature? You can sell some to them at a slightly reduced price to sell to their customers. Admittedly they will be advertising other venues but those venues will probably be in other towns so there should be no problem.

    • You did. If you go to the shop page, you will see your original comment. You were the one who first gave me the idea 🙂

I might be able to get the individual coffee shops to sell them, but for the moment, I’m concentrating on getting my own followers to buy them 🙂

      Thanks,
      Brian.

  2. Update: I’ve got enough pre-orders to go ahead and print 25, but it would be lovely if I could do the full 50, so please get your orders in! Also, I’ve now added an option for a desktop calendar: check out the (updated) post for details!

  3. The calendars have arrived! All 100 of them! However, they are disappearing almost as rapidly. If you have ordered one, I should have contacted you by now to arrange delivery, so if you haven’t heard from me, please let me know!

I have to say that Vistaprint did an excellent job with the printing. They have far exceeded my expectations; everyone who has had one so far has been really impressed with the quality of the calendar.

If you would like one please leave a comment below or drop me a line using the Contact Form.

    Many thanks,
    Brian.
